Hey there, Connectors! Welcome to the weekend! And to the 1,000th edition of Connections!
When I started playing and writing about this game on August 14, 2023, I didn’t exactly think I’d still be doing it nearly three years and 936 editions later (I was late and missed the first couple of months!).
It’s been a blast playing and chatting about this game with everyone. And if I’ve helped folks smile or discover something new through my Connections column, I can be content with that. Here’s to the next 9,000.
Before we begin, we have a great little community on Discord, where we chat about NYT Connections, the rest of the NYT games and all kinds of other stuff. Everyone who has joined has been lovely. It’s a fun hangout spot, and you’re more than welcome to join us.
Discord is also the best way to give me any feedback about the column, especially on the rare (or not-so-rare) occasions that I mess something up. I don’t look at Twitter much.
Today’s NYT Connections hints and answers for Saturday, March 7 are coming right up.

This is your final warning!
Today’s Connections answers are...
🟨 Yellow group — $1 (BUCK, DOLLAR, ONE, SINGLE)
🟩 Green group — "Wherefore art thou, Romeo?" (ART, ROMEO, THOU, WHEREFORE)
🟦 Blue group — words before "castle" (BOUNCY, NEW, SAND, WHITE)
🟪 Purple group — where you might make a connection (AIRPORT, DATING APP, INTERNET CAFE, THIS GAME)
Of course today's game was going to have a gimmicky twist. Not that I'm complaining. It just made things a bit more fun.
WHEREFORE made the greens clear right away. I had a feeling that AIRPORT, DATING APP and INTERNET CAFE would go together somehow. It took me a moment to realize the category and complete the purple group. Very cute. I like it.
From there, I figured out the blues and yellows more or less simultaneously. I slide through the blues first, and then wrapped up a 371st win in a row with the yellows.
How did you get on today? Here's my grid:

P.S. I saw this on Reddit recently and today seems like a fitting day to share it.
Someone created a custom game of Connections in which you are guaranteed to win and have zero mistakes. It doesn't matter which words you submit as a guess. It'll turn out to be a group that makes sense. It's very cool:
Have a great day! Stay hydrated! Be kind to yourself and each other! Call someone you love!
On weekdays, you can find this column over at Forbes. Please follow my blog there for more coverage of NYT Connections and other word games, and even some video game news, insights and analysis. It helps me out a lot!
Sharing this column with other people who play Connections would be appreciated too. Also, subscribe to this newsletter if you haven’t already!
