NYT Connections Hints And Answers For Saturday, May 10

Hey there, Connectors! Welcome to the weekend. I hope you enjoy it, whatever that means for you!

Today’s a special birthday for someone in my family. I won’t say what age or who, but they live back in Scotland and are currently on vacation in Greece.

I don’t want to share any specifics so as to protect their privacy as much as possible. But if you could maybe send your well wishes into the universe for an anonymous member of my family, that would be super sweet of you.

Thinking about my own birthdays, other than the silly casino trip I have planned for my next one, I don’t especially need anything. I don’t really need any gifts. I can buy anything I want or need. I’d rather people make a donation to a good cause than gift me anything at this point.

Before we begin, we have a great little community on Discord, where we chat about NYT Connections, the rest of the NYT games and all kinds of other stuff. Everyone who has joined has been lovely. It’s a fun hangout spot, and you’re more than welcome to join us.

A fairly easy game to extend my streak to 74 wins. Holy smokes, almost three-quarters of the way to a hundo! Here's how I fared:

Not to be a total millennial or anything, but COMIC SANS is one of worst things my eyes have ever come across and I do not appreciate the reference here. So there.

PEP and ZIP were my entry point into the blues. I thought those might be the yellows, but that's the way the game goes sometimes! To say someone is "full of beans" means they have a lot of energy.

I got the greens after that. SANS and MINUS led me down the garden path there.

At that point, the yellows became blatantly clear, so I had to submit the purples first. I did figure out the connection there before submitting them. COMIC was the giveaway. Then I submitted the yellows. Then I was done.

And now, I can try to rest and hopefully shake the head cold that's been bugging me all week. Sigh. I think I'll need some extra rest just in case tomorrow's game (700!!) is extra difficult. We've got this.
