Hey there, Connectors! I hope you’ve had a fantastic weekend so far.
Owning a home instead of renting means a lot more responsibility, which is for people who are far more grown-up than I am. So even if the stars were to align for me to buy a place that checked the right boxes, I’m not sure that I’d go for it.
Still, that hasn’t stopped me from occasionally having a peek at real estate listings that are absolutely out of my price range. I used to live in a more densely populated neighborhood and some of the homes that exist on the other side of deeply boring facades are wild. This week, I saw what would have been an unassuming listing with a decent-sized in-ground pool and seven bedrooms with high-end fixtures that cost like $6 million and was a few blocks away from my old place. Looks nice!
Maybe if I get lucky with a stock pick and strike on the next NVIDIA, I’d be able to afford a place like that someday. But then again, I might be happier in an apartment or rented condo, where I can just call in the landlord to fix any issues instead of having to deal with it myself. Decisions, decisions…
Before we begin, we have a great little community on Discord, where we chat about NYT Connections, the rest of the NYT games and all kinds of other stuff. Everyone who has joined has been lovely. It’s a fun hangout spot, and you’re more than welcome to join us.
Discord is also the best way to give me any feedback about the column, especially on the rare (or not-so-rare) occasions that I mess something up. I don’t look at Twitter much.

What Are Today’s Connections Answers?
Spoiler alert! Don’t scroll any further down the page until you’re ready to find out today’s Connections answers.
This is your final warning!
Today’s Connections answers are...
🟨 Yellow group — stipulation (CATCH, CAVEAT, FINE PRINT, STRINGS)
🟩 Green group — vocal characteristics (PITCH, RANGE, REGISTER, TONE)
🟦 Blue group — characters in Dick and Jane (DICK, JANE, MOTHER, SPOT)
🟪 Purple group — things with faces (BUILDING, CLIFF, CLOCK, POLYHEDRON)
REGISTER and RANGE helped me lock in the greens quickly. The yellows were next up, though it did take me a moment to realize that STRINGS was the fourth component there.
CLIFF and CLOCK then made me think of things that have faces, so I had the purples. I did think of the movie Fun with Dick and Jane thanks to DICK and JANE, but I don't know anything about the Dick and Jane children's books. Anyway, that extends my winning streak to 421.
How did you get on today? Here's my grid:

That’s all there is to it for today’s Connections clues and answers. I’ll be back over at Forbes for the Monday-Friday editions for the column. And if you haven’t subscribed to Pastimes already, definitely do that! It would be super sweet of you.
P.S. Is this a "laid-back" song? No. Is it delightful anyway? Yes. It's a little more of an energetic track than I'd normally opt to bring you on a Sunday, but Lucy Dacus' cover of Bruce Springsteen's "Dancing in the Dark" is a real gem any day of the week:
Have a great day! Stay hydrated! Be kind to yourself and each other! Call someone you love!
On weekdays, you can find this column over at Forbes. Please follow my blog there for more coverage of NYT Connections and other word games, and even some video game news, insights and analysis. It helps me out a lot!
Sharing this column with other people who play Connections would be appreciated too. Also, subscribe to this newsletter if you haven’t already!
