NYT 'Connections' Hints And Answers For Sunday, June 29

Hey there, Connectors! I hope you’ve had a fantastic weekend so far.

I think there’s something to be said for just putting out there how you’re feeling. After mentioning yesterday that I’ve had low energy recently, I’ve had a bit more of a pep in my step. That’s a good thing for a bunch of reasons, such as getting a few ideas for Pastimes journal entries and scribbles lined up.

I definitely do need to feel more energetic right now. I have a busy week, starting with a five-year-old’s birthday celebrations today and a concert I’m very, very excited about tomorrow. Should be fun!

I tried a group of EARTHWORM, MUSHROOM, MUD and CABBAGE PATCH as a bunch of things you might find in your backyard. I was one away from a group there and agonizingly close to the actual category.

Fortunately, I remembered that a CABBAGE PATCH is a type of dance (my first thought was that it might be a Cabbage Patch Kids reference). So I bundled that with the rest of the blues to get my first group.

This is roughly how good I am at doing the FLOSS:

With the blues sorted, that meant PUDDLE was likely to go with the rest of the words in my first guess. That's a pretty surprising purple group! I thought it might have been green.

The ice cream words were all easy to spot after that, leaving the greens for another win.

No perfect game this time, alas. However, my streak now sits at 124 wins, what the heck? Here's my grid:

P.S. I often take a peek at upcoming listings to see which artists are coming to town and sometimes check out some songs of those I’ve never heard of. I’m very glad I did that for a instrumental band from Toronto called The Surfrajettes.

They play ‘60s-style surf rock. The quartet have covered one of my favorite Spice Girls songs and, hands down, the best Britney Spears song in that style. Just relaxing enough for a Sunday, I’d argue. Please do enjoy:
