Hey there, Connectors! I hope you’ve had a fantastic weekend so far.
I really dig this movie trailer that popped up other day. I absolutely adore Bong Joon Ho’s The Host. This peek at Hope gives me… well, hope that we’re about to get another great monster movie out of South Korea.
I read that Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender are playing aliens in this film, which just makes me want to see it even more. I really hope it’s playing at Montreal’s big genre film festival this summer, as this one looks like it would be a blast to see with that crowd
(Warning, it might be a little scary for some!):
Before we begin, we have a great little community on Discord, where we chat about NYT Connections, the rest of the NYT games and all kinds of other stuff. Everyone who has joined has been lovely. It’s a fun hangout spot, and you’re more than welcome to join us.
Discord is also the best way to give me any feedback about the column, especially on the rare (or not-so-rare) occasions that I mess something up. I don’t look at Twitter much.

What Are Today’s Connections Answers?
Spoiler alert! Don’t scroll any further down the page until you’re ready to find out today’s Connections answers.
This is your final warning!
Today’s Connections answers are...
🟨 Yellow group — farm fixtures (COOP, PEN, SHED, STABLE)
🟩 Green group — labor protest actions (MARCH, PICKET, RALLY, STRIKE)
🟦 Blue group — objects used in ritual performances (DRUM, MASK, RATTLE, STAFF)
🟪 Purple group — possessive adjectives plus a letter (HERB, HISS, ITSY, MYA)
I managed to avoid the snake red herring (HISS, SHED, RATTLE and I guess STRIKE) by realizing that shed had to go with the rest of the yellows. The protest actions were next for the greens.
From there, ITSY stood out, and I was able to figure out the purples (her, his, its and my). That left the blues for my 448th win in a row.
How did you get on today? Here's my grid:

That’s all there is to it for today’s Connections clues and answers. I’ll be back over at Forbes for the Monday-Friday editions for the column. And if you haven’t subscribed to Pastimes already, definitely do that! It would be super sweet of you.
P.S. I’ve recommended a lot of guitar-driven rock music in the column for the past little while. I recognize that, and while it’s the realm of music that I dabble in most, I’m into all kinds of genres. So I’ll try to balance things out a bit more.
For what it’s worth, my favorite new artist I’ve discovered this year so far is Chloe Qisha. She’s a pop artist through and through. Everything I’ve heard from her has been top notch. “YDH” is probably my song of the year so far too.
Qisha recently dropped another new track and it’s one that fits quite nicely with our usual laidback Sunday vibe. “Surprise Surprise” is another good ‘un:
Have a great day! Stay hydrated! Be kind to yourself and each other! Call someone you love!
