Today's NYT 'Connections' Hints And Answers For Saturday, July 26

Hey there, Connectors! Welcome to the weekend!

I’ve been pretty darn fortunate in this life so far. My closest family members are all in good health, my career’s going pretty decently and I have a fantastic partner. Aside from my need to get into better shape and my lack of a real social circle where I’m currently living, I’m generally happy.

I’ve long had a tendency to make things difficult for myself, though. I’ve been my own worst enemy at times and built up unnecessary roadblocks that have prevented me from doing things I want to and should be doing. At times, I’ve felt like I’ve been swimming upstream.

I’ve dealt with some consequences of that, sure. But as I mature, I’m becoming marginally better over time at getting out of my own way. Therapy has helped with that a lot too (I absolutely recommend therapy to everyone, though I totally understand that it’s not always easily accessible).

I don’t have a big point to make here this time. Just feeling a little introspective and trying to reflect on how I’m trying to better myself. I hope you’re working on yourself too.

What Are Today’s Connections Answers?

Today’s Connections answers are...

• 🟨 Yellow group — herbs and spices (ANISE, DILL, MACE, SAGE)

• 🟩 Green group — shades of green (BOTTLE, HUNTER, KELLY, PEA)

• 🟦 Blue group — travel on foot (HIKE, MARCH, TRAMP, TREK)

• 🟪 Purple group — starts of European capitals (COPE, LUXE, SARA, WARS)

TREK, WARS and ANISE seemed like strong contenders to go together since they could all be preceded by "star." But, in the famous words of Admiral Ackbar, I felt that "It's a trap." Or it was a trap, to be more grammatically correct.

Anyway! The blues jumped out at me first. Easy enough, I felt. The yellows were straightforward too.

I had to take a little break, even after hitting the shuffle button a few times. Eventually, it clicked that PEA and HUNTER were shades of green. That got me to, oddly enough, the greens.

With only the purples left, LUXE was the glaring clue. I feel like we had a group of partial European cities pretty recently. Anyway, these refer to COPEnhagen, LUXEmbourg City, SARAjevo and WARSaw.

And, hey, look at that! My streak is now up to 150. Couldn't have done it without y'all. Truly. Here's my grid for today:
